Activities
MOVE & GROOVE!
Join regional jump-step star Nethmi De Silva and fellow Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester educators as they show you and your family how to Double-Dutch rope jump and learn the art of stepping. A game and a style of dance, both richly steeped in Black history, Double-Dutch and stepping may just become your favorite party moves!
TELL YOUR STORY!
Guided by Antioch Baptist Church master quilters, learn how pieces of fabric, joined together with love and bravery, helped Miss Harriet and many enslaved people find their way to freedom. Combine your art with your neighbors’ to create a community quilt!
UNLOCK SECRET CODES!
With our friends from the Katonah Museum of Art, create paper quilt designs and celebrate the jubilation of the moment way back in 1865 when newly freed people cheered in excitement by unraveling the secret freedom codes—including the brilliant North Star!
