    Planned Giving:
    The Encore Society

Planned gifts offer a meaningful way to ensure that Caramoor’s programs, grounds, and artistic experiences remain vibrant for generations to come, while also aligning with your personal philanthropic and financial goals. Celebrate your lasting commitment to Caramoor’s future with a planned gift to safeguard the historic home and gardens that have brought you so much joy.

Create Your Legacy: The Encore Society

Walter and Lucie Rosen believed deeply in creating a welcoming place for the community to experience music, art, and inspiration. They shaped Caramoor with that spirit in mind, and their vision continues to guide us today.

THE ENCORE SOCIETY honors donors whose estate plans or wills include gifts designated for the long-term benefit of Caramoor.

“You make us feel at home... a defining difference at Caramoor and one that I have been fortunate to have benefited from for over 30 years.”

    - Robert C. Dinerstein, Encore Society Member

We would be honored to speak with you about a giving option that reflects your values and vision for Caramoor's future.

To be part of Caramoor’s legacy and to learn more, please contact Gillian Fox, President & CEO.

Choose the gift that’s right for you:

A planned gift can help to protect assets, provide for your loved ones, or yield income for life while making a difference for Caramoor.

Depending on your philanthropic goals, you may choose to include Caramoor as a beneficiary in your estate or retirement plan, make a gift of stock or an IRA charitable rollover, or gift a tangible asset, such as real estate. Each option helps safeguard Caramoor’s future and preserves this cultural treasure for all who will enjoy it in the years ahead. Our Ways to Give Matrix provides a great overview of these opportunities.

Here are two of the most common gifts that you might consider:

    • Bequest: Make a gift by including a provision in your will or trust. You may designate a fixed dollar amount, a specific asset, or a percentage of your estate.

    • Retirement Account: This is often the most heavily taxed asset in an estate, as it is subject to both income and estate taxes. Choosing this as your gift may leave your less tax-burdened assets to your loved ones.

*You should consult your qualified professional advisors on how a gift to Caramoor fits into your overall philanthropic goals.

By declaring your intention to make a planned gift to Caramoor

    • We can acknowledge and celebrate your commitment today.

    • You set an example and may inspire others to make transformational gifts of their own.

Download a letter of intent form and once completed, send to gillian@caramoor.org.

    Encore Society Member Spotlight:

    Victoria Wooters and Matthew Mattoon

For 40 years, Victoria and her husband, Matt, have been devoted members of the Caramoor community, serving as volunteers, ushers, and docents. Their commitment reflects the personal and historical connection that defines Caramoor. By including Caramoor in their estate plans, they are helping ensure that this inspiring place remains vibrant and accessible for generations.

    • I’ve been coming to Caramoor since 1978 and have cherished seeing it evolve into the extraordinary place it is today. Including Caramoor in our estate plan felt like the best way to help ensure its legacy endures.
