J. Walter Corcoran, Caramoor Trustee from 1991 to 2001, Passes Away at 79

November 14, 2017 Blog

Mr. J. Walter Corcoran (1938-2017)

The Board of Trustees and staff of Caramoor are saddened to learn of the October 26th passing of J. Walter Corcoran who served as a Caramoor Trustee from 1991 to 2002.

As President of the Philips Credit Corporation of NYC, Mr. Corcoran’s City and Greenwich, CT connections led him to Caramoor. He was known for having “a voice of sanity and common sense” during board meetings and was particularly appreciated for using his executive-level communications and other business connections to increase Caramoor’s visibility throughout the business sector and the region.

Our condolences to Mr. Corcoran’s surviving family and loved ones.

More information may be found via this notice in The New York Times.
