Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s Baroque Orchestra, and Jeannette Sorrell return with a program of Venetian treats, including fiery concertos by Vivaldi, as well as gorgeous songs by Monteverdi. Vivaldi’s stormy “Summer Concerto” from The Four Seasons sets sparks flying. Barbara Strozzi’s haunting lament “Che si può fare” (“What can you do?”) sheds light on the feminist soul of the 17th century. Hear why The New York Times calls the group “first rate … rendered with consummate skill and artistry … ”
