5 Songs To Relieve YouFrom Stress

    By Roslyn Wertheimer
    blogCaramoorspotify

Turkey and togetherness aside, the holidays can be a stressful time. To help you maintain mental peace, we've gathered five delightful songs that were performed in our Music Room during our 2016 fall season.

    In no particular order...

    1. It's a Good Day by Cyrille Aimée

This GRAMMY nominated jazz singer recently performed in our Music Room on November 5th, presented in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center. The show sold out months in advance and a long standing ovation was given to the very deserving, Cyrille Aimée.

    2. String Sextet in D Major, Op. 10; Korngold / Performed by the Evnin Rising Stars

Our Evnin Rising Stars take a week of intensive rehearsal with esteemed mentors before playing two concerts that are free for students ages 18 and under.. This year they performed a slew of amazing and challenging music, including this breathtaking piece.

    3. Suite italienne (for violin and piano); Stravinsky / performed by Edward Arron & Friends (November 20 at 3pm)

Eddie Arron (cello), Andrew Armstrong (piano), and Jennifer Frautschi (violin) will bring together a vivacious, witty, and fun program to our Music Room this coming weekend. Let this piece help you escape any stress you might have by closing your eyes and picturing yourself on a bustling morning in Italy.

    4. Lack of Cashflow Blues by David Amram

This witty and politically charged track will make you chuckle, but also take a step back and realize just how good David Amram is as a song writer. He performed with Silver City Bound in mid-October, and the (sold out) crowd seriously loved them. It was such a treat to have so many musical-masterminds in one room.

    5. Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV. 1007: I. Prelude; Johann Sebastian Bach / Performed by Alisa Weilerstein

Ah yes, a piece most will recognize. This movement, along with the rest of the other 37 movements, were performed by the world-renowned cellist, Alisa Weilerstein. If you decide to listen to all of the movements, then you are looking at 2 hours and 17 minutes of pure bliss-an exceptional choice for those long holiday drives to houses of friends and family.
