Music Room at Rosen House
Tickets: $20

Flower historian Jill Brooke, author of The Genius of Flowers: What Life’s Most Beautiful Creations Can Teach Us, will share fascinating ways music and fashion—both integral to Caramoor—have been used by famous designers and musicians to tell universal stories of love and family and create lasting connections. Lucie Rosen, whose unique style is on display in this summer’s Inside Lucie’s Wardrobe Focus Tour, was also inspired by nature. Particularly striking is her Flora costume, covered in flowers and inspired by Botticelli’s Primavera. The evening begins with a chance to view dresses and accessories from Inside Lucie’s Wardrobe in the West Corridor and Music Room, followed by a talk by the author on some of the hidden meanings and secrets behind Botticelli’s masterpiece.
Jessa Krick is the Director of Interpretation, Collections, and Archives for the Rosen House at Caramoor. Her work focuses on intertwining the history of Caramoor, its founders, and the Rosen House decorative and fine arts collection with the visitor experience. Prior to joining Caramoor, she served for more than a decade as Associate Director of Collections for Historic Hudson Valley, where she was part of a team that received numerous grants for making interpretive and archival content available onsite and online. Before that, she held positions at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the Antonio Ratti Textile Center and The Costume Institute. A Willamette University and Bard Graduate Center alumna, Krick brings a deep expertise in decorative arts, costume history, and museum interpretation to her role, and a passion for uncovering the stories that collections hold.
