Moderated by Amadi Azikiwe with meditations coached by Thomas Droge, the two use mindfulness techniques to guide audiences through an immersive practice of listening. “Rising star” violinist (BBC Music Magazine) Layale Chaker and clarinetist Kinan Azmeh (winner of the 2019 OpusKlassik Award) perform in between moments of introspection and stillness.

Caramoor’s bucolic Sunken Garden provides a fitting setting to clear the mind and nourish the spirit with silence and music. Beginning with a guided meditation and concluding with a group discussion, Beginner’s Ear offers a soul-nourishing new way of hearing music and builds community through the shared experience of silence and sound.

Please bring your own blanket or seating. In the event of rain, this event will be moved into the Pavilion Tent.
