The Milk Carton Kids
Saturday, October 12 at 8 P.M. in the Music Room
Katonah, NY – On Saturday, October 12 at 8 p.m. in the Music Room, indie folk duo, The Milk Carton Kids, will make their debut appearance at Caramoor as part of their fall 2013 The Ash & Clay Tour. They have been compared to the sounds of Simon and Garfunkel and the Everly Brothers for their timeless sound that seems to resonate across all demographics. Using their voices and guitars to create intimate and powerful songs, the duo will perform selections from their third album, Ash & Clay, with a “sweetly dazzling variation on close-harmony vocals” (The New York Times) that will make the audience reflect on the warmth and calm of the autumn season.

ABOUT THE THE MILK CARTON KIDS
The Milk Carton Kids is an indie folk duo from Eagle Rock, California, made up of singers-guitarists Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan. They formed the duo in early 2011 after Ryan attended a solo performance by Pattengale in their shared hometown. Both had long careers as solo performers behind them, and each had reached a professional crossroads, which led them to form the musical duo. NPR has described their approach to music as “gorgeous contemporary folk” and “Gillian Welch & David Rawlings-meets-Simon & Garfunkel with a splash of The Everly Brothers”.
