Nicholas Cords, violaEvnin Rising Stars, 1995 and 1996Nicholas joined the faculty of New England Conservatory this fall and has been on the front line of projects as performer, educator, and cultural advocate. He is the Co-Artistic Director of Silkroad, a musical collective founded by Yo-Yo Ma. He is also violist of Brooklyn Rider and Artist-in Residence at Stony Brook University.

Paul Huang, violinEvnin Rising Stars, 2015 and 2016Paul received the 2017 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists. This season’s engagements include his recital debut at the Lucerne Festival and a return engagement at the Kennedy Center where he recently premiered Conrad Tao’s Threads of Contact for Violin and Piano.

Joélle Harvey, sopranoSchwab Vocal Rising Stars, 2009Joélle returned to the Glyndebourne Festival last summer as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, earlier in the season she performed Almirena in Handel’s Rinaldo with The English Concert and Harry Bicket on an international tour with concerts at the Barbican and Carnegie Hall. She performed the role of Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro for Pittsburgh Opera and Handel’s Messiah with the New York Philharmonic.

Madison Leonard, sopranoSchwab Vocal Rising Stars, 2018In May 2018 Madison was named one of the winners of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions competition. Last season she was a member of Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. She recently made her National Symphony Orchestra debut in Stravinsky’s Pulcinella. Last summer she returned to Wolf Trap Opera for her role debuts as Ilia in Idomeneo and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette.

Dover QuartetErnst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence, 2013-14Winners of the Cleveland Quartet Award in 2015 and an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2017, the Dover Quartet was recently named Quartet-in-Residence at the Kennedy Center for a three-year term beginning this season. Last season, they joined Janine Jansen and Jean-Yves Thibaudet on Carnegie Hall’s main stage. Their recent bestselling album, Voices of Defiance: 1943 1944 1945 broke the top ten on Billboard’s traditional classical chart.
